i am from florida. and i’m going to move to dc and soon it will be way colder than i think anywhere should be but that’s another story. the real question is WHAT DO I WEAR TO STAY WARM AND NOT LOOK LIKE A PSYCHO? because when it’s cold here i usually just put on every piece of clothing i own and in like 5 hours it’s hot enough to take everything off.

agree about the boots. not sure how much it snows in DC but if and when it does you’re going to want something waterproof and warm. also get a coat (some sort of puff coat) that is mid-thigh. your warm butt will thank you.

Layers, grl. Because a heavy ass coat is nice for a while but then you’re like, “FUCKBALLSIT’SATHOUSANDDEGREES.” I have a fleece lined fur hood utilitarian jacket that I wear when I’m having a “casual” day. Other than that it’s my leather jacket.

The biggest mistake is getting a really thick jacket and thinking that only will work. LOTS OF THIN LAYERS! Thermal Long Johns and Shirts are amazing. They trap in heat and aren’t bulky. Start with that then add your outfit. Coat on top of that.
